The first thing we recommend is to make sure your pet is registered! Each microchip company has their own 3 digit code to identify who manufactured that particular chip. Most microchips are considered universal if they are 15 digits long. If your microchip contains letters and is 9 or 10 digits long, contact the manufacturer and ask if it is universal. Save This Life is identified by the digits 991.

The easiest and fastest way to find out if a microchip is registered in any database is by using the AAHA lookup tool. (link to AAHA blog) Once you determine who your pet is registered with, call their customer service.
